I paint with oils on Linen, watercolours on Yupo and with pastels on paper however, I create my most dynamic work on silk.

At times I feel the silk needs to become more textural and once the dyes are fixed I layer other textiles and fibre to create far more sculptural and tactile pieces. I use Free Motion Machine Embroidery to combine fabric layers and breathe life into the work.

Slivers of daily life inspire me and once an idea takes hold I work with it in different mediums until it becomes merely a representation of the original and it has a new presence.

As I struggle against the boundaries of one medium or presentation my work emerges in different guises:

Designs live as Bridal and Formal fabrics to be manipulated into a gown to showcase the client's personality or as scarves to be worn as a swathe of luxurious colourburst to enhance style and flair. Fine art I have created is in private collections around the world.
